Music, Sweet Music
by Tori Close

It begins with a soft ebb and flow, and I picture it as a gentle brook slowly making it's way through a lush forest. The introduction is gently meandering; in no rush to get where it's going. Taking a moment here and there to slow down and take in the beauty of the surrounding area.

Ever so softly, without even realizing, it begins to pick up speed. A simple melody begins to form as it makes its way through the journey of time. The lilting notes entwine, creating a sense of joy. The sounds of harmonies infuse me with a glorious sense of belonging.

The brook begins to expand, and pours into the river of my mind. The tempo ever increasing while it twists and churns around the rocks that stand in its way. Never in danger, but knowing it could be just around the corner if I am not careful. A fork can be seen up ahead; I must choose my path with wisdom, or forever be lost.

A sudden crescendo bursts out, and the river becomes one with the ocean of my being. The rush of freedom that I experience is like nothing I've ever known. The vast expanse looms before me, without end.

I am swiftly brought out to sea, where after the storm, the gentle melody has returned. The Son shines upon my face as I rest with a peaceful heart, knowing I am safe from the waves that try to engulf me.

As I drift along in the serenity of Love, I know I have chosen the right path. I can now relax and dwell in the Music of my life.
